Memorial Day Weekend Events Across Missouri (2026)

Missourians across the state will gather this Memorial Day weekend to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. From remembrance ceremonies and veteran tributes to historic parades and community observances, here are several Memorial Day events taking place across Missouri in 2026.


St. Louis Memorial Day Observance

Date: Monday, May 25, 2026
Location: Soldiers Memorial Military Museum, Downtown St. Louis

St. Louis will host its annual Memorial Day observance at Soldiers Memorial in downtown St. Louis. The ceremony honors fallen service members and includes military tributes and remembrance programming at one of Missouri’s most historic veteran memorial sites.


St. Charles Memorial Day Ceremony

Location: St. Charles Veterans Memorial, Lewis & Clark Boathouse Parking Lot
Address: 1050 S Riverside Drive, St. Charles, MO 63301

The City of St. Charles Veterans Commission will host its annual Memorial Day Ceremony honoring those who gave their lives in service to the United States. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will move to American Legion Post 312.


Missouri Veterans Cemetery Memorial Service – Jacksonville

The Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville will hold its annual Memorial Day Service honoring Missouri veterans and fallen heroes. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs due to limited seating.


Celebration at the Station – Kansas City

Date: Sunday, May 24, 2026
Location: Union Station, Kansas City, Missouri

Kansas City’s annual “Celebration at the Station” returns Memorial Day weekend with patriotic performances, military tributes, and community remembrance activities near Union Station and the National WWI Museum and Memorial.


Alton Memorial Day Parade & Flyover

Date: Monday, May 25, 2026
Time: 10:00 AM
Location: Downtown Alton, Illinois (Greater St. Louis Region)

One of the nation’s oldest continuously running Memorial Day parades returns for its 159th year just across the river from St. Louis. This year’s event includes approximately 70 parade units and a B-25 bomber flyover by the Commemorative Air Force Missouri Wing.


Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery Memorial Day Observances

Date: Memorial Day Weekend & Monday, May 25, 2026
Location: Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis County

Missourians are encouraged to visit Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery throughout Memorial Day weekend to honor the thousands of veterans laid to rest at one of the country’s most historic military cemeteries.


Springfield Area Veterans Cemetery Flag Displays

Location: Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri

Thousands of American flags have been placed throughout the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield ahead of Memorial Day. Visitors are encouraged to spend time reflecting and honoring those who served.
