Jefferson City, Missouri
Missouri Valor Alliance is applauding final passage of legislation establishing a bidding preference for veteran-owned businesses in Missouri government contracting as part of House Bill 2593, a broader military affairs and Missouri National Guard package that now heads to Governor Mike Kehoe’s desk for signature.
The legislation requires all state agencies, departments, institutions, and political subdivisions to provide a three-point bidding preference to honorably discharged veteran-owned businesses that conduct business in Missouri or maintain offices within the state when competing for public contracts.
The measure passed the Missouri House by a vote of 138-1 after previously clearing the Senate earlier this week.
Missouri Valor Alliance thanks Representative Scott Miller, Representative Bill Hardwick, Senator Adam Schnelting, and Senator Ben Brown for their leadership and support of the legislation.
